                     TEST PROGRAM

RUBBER GLOVE TEST PROGRAM

I. GENERAL PROCEDURE

1. Gloves are cleaned and tested in accordance with   ASTM/ANSI applicable standards.

2. After dielectric test, each glove is visually inspected for corona cutting, snags, holes above
test area, ozone cracks, chemical attack, etc.

3. Each glove passing test is stamped with proper voltage according to class, and date of
test. We will stamp other information, such as numbers, at your request.

4. Defective gloves will be stamped as REJECTED and can be replaced with odd left or right
gloves from our inventory.

5.We can hold your group of rubber gloves for up to 30 days, until your next scheduled
changeout or return them to you immediately.

* Please return gloves to us along with a list of numbers and sizes needed for proper identification with each shipment.

II. NUMBERING SYSTEM

Gloves should be numbered to give you a systematic method of handling changeouts. The most effective system is for each employee to be issued a number and have this number remain the same month after month. To distinguish between two sets of gloves, a letter "A" is stamped after the number on one group and a letter "B" after the number on the second group. For example, 1-A and 1-B. While Group A is being worn, Group B is sent to us for a retest. For your convenience, we furnish a wall chart with columns for each employee's name, size, and glove number to record changeouts each month for an individual. This also enables a record to be kept on rejects. For this system to work, we must have a list identical to yours so we can be sure to stamp the proper number on the proper size glove. This not only gives each employee the correct size glove for changeout, but they will have the same pair of gloves unless there is a size change or reject. This works best if a list is included in the box each time with proper numbers and sizes needed.

III. TEST DATES AND CHANGEOUT DATES

"Changing Your Gloves for Safety's Sake" can be conducted with a minimum of trouble, considering the risk involved without changing gloves periodically. Don't wait for a rainy day, or a time when there is nothing else to do to change out gloves. A specific day or time of month should be decided for glove changeout. Whether you want to changeout gloves at a safety meeting, on payday, the first, tenth or any time of the month is up to you. We can return gloves when you want them. If we know what day you change gloves, we will set up a test date a few days earlier to test your gloves. This gives you a set of gloves with a current test date for issue. The other set of gloves is then returned to us and we will hold them until your next test date.

IV. SUMMARY OF RUBBER GLOVE TEST PROGRAM

A combination of the previous three captions gives you a system that can certainly enhance your rubber glove testing program. The method described here is the one we have found to work best through our years of experience. If you want to alter our system, or if you think another system would work better for you, we are willing to work with you to set up a program that suits your needs.

RUBBER GOODS AND STICK         TESTING PROGRAM

Line hose , rubber blankets, hoods, etc., are tested in accordance with applicable ANSI specifications. The general procedure is the same as Section I Rubber Glove Test Program.

We recommend that cover up material be tested every six months. Rather than attempt testing everything at one time, it seems to work better to test about half every three months, or whatever amount required to rotate them every six months.

Fiberglass Hotsticks and Gripall Sticks are required to be tested every 2 years. For best results, make arrangements to ship half of your group to our Laboratory once a year. This way your out of service time is not critical. We also recommend having a few extra sticks to keep as spares during downtime.
